Our Story

Mission Statement:

It has become clear that we cannot rely upon our elected officials to respond effectively to the many serious environmental challenges we are now facing.  From the limiting and sequestering of carbon to addressing insect and animal die-offs, to the deadly polluting of water ways from farm and garden chemicals and added nutrients, we the people must step up, or dig down as the case may be, and find positive responses.

RETIRE YOUR LAWN: PLANT HOPE is a response.  30-40% of all land is privately owned.  What if we land owners (individuals, faith communities, businesses, local governments) took responsibility for utilizing our plots of earth to:
 

• absorb carbon 

• decline chemical and nutritional amendments

• provide a rich environment to nurture biodiversity

• drink in the growing and vast amounts of water that storms bring

• eschew greenhouse gas producing mowing

• create hyper nutritious food for family, friends and community

• save money and the sanctity of our lower backs!
